Free Online Klondike Solitaire

Classic Klondike Solitaire card game. Build four foundation piles from Ace to King, one per suit, by arranging tableau columns in alternating colours. Choose Draw 1 or Draw 3 mode. Includes undo, scoring, and a timer. No download needed.

How to Play Klondike Solitaire

  1. Seven tableau columns are dealt; the top card of each column is face up.
  2. Four foundation piles (top-right) must be built up from Ace to King, one per suit (♥ ♦ ♣ ♠).
  3. Move cards between tableau columns in descending rank and alternating colour (red on black, black on red).
  4. Only a King (or a sequence starting with a King) may be moved to an empty tableau column.
  5. Click the stock pile (top-left) to draw one or three cards into the waste pile.
  6. Top cards from the waste pile can be played onto the tableau or foundations.
  7. Win by moving all 52 cards to the four foundation piles.

Draw 1 vs Draw 3 Mode

  • Draw 1 — one card is turned from the stock at a time. More options visible; generally easier to win.
  • Draw 3 — three cards are turned at once and only the top one is playable. Classic Vegas-style challenge with fewer accessible cards.

Solitaire Tips & Strategy

  • Prioritise uncovering face-down cards in the tableau — each revealed card opens more moves.
  • Move Aces and 2s to the foundations immediately whenever possible.
  • Do not move a card to the foundation prematurely if it is needed to build a tableau sequence.
  • Keep tableau columns balanced — avoid stranding Kings in columns with no useful sequences behind them.
  • Use Undo sparingly to explore alternative lines rather than undoing every mistake.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is every deal winnable?
Not necessarily — approximately 79% of Klondike deals are theoretically winnable, but not all wins are reachable with perfect play in Draw 3 mode.
What does the score represent?
Points are awarded for moves to the foundation, flipping face-down cards, and playing waste cards to the tableau. Time bonuses apply on completion.
Can I undo moves?
Yes — the Undo button steps back one move at a time.
